Welcome to the 2023-2024 Bowie Swim and Dive swim season! We are looking forward to an exciting year and wanted to give you an update on all things Bowie Swim and Dive.

Physical Forms and Rank One Forms are due to Coach Carr now, and must be turned in before you can participate in your first swim practice.

Swim Practice: First practice is August 21st at Circle C Swim Center beginning at 6:30am. Practices will be Mon-Th 6:30am-8am. A bus will arrive at the Swim Center at 8:20am to take students that need a ride to Bowie High School.
Fall Tryouts: Fall tryouts will be held the first day of swim practice.
New Assistant Swim/Dive Coach: We are excited to announce that we have a new assistant swim coach. Jessica Langbehn is a math teacher at Bowie and will be supporting Coach Carr and our swimmers and divers this year. We look forward to seeing her on deck and welcoming her to the Bowie Swim Team.
Upcoming Events: Swim and Dive will have our Bowie Team tent at Bulldogs and Hot Dogs selling Bush’s Chicken Sandwiches, Bowie T shirts, and the baby pool with ducks for prizes. This is our primary fundraiser for the swim team. This year we are going to sell T-shirts that are not swim specific to see if we can increase our pool of buyers. We will request $5 gift cards to use as prizes at our booth. We will need volunteers (swimmers and parents) for this event and will send out a signup genius very soon.
Parent & Swimmer Meeting 8/24/23 5-7pm Please plan to attend this meeting in Bowie Cafeteria. Please review the swim handbook (https://bowieswimming.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Swim-Dive-Handbook-23-24.p df) prior to the meeting. Membership dues will be due at this meeting Swimmers $225 Divers $165. Payments can be made by check, cash or school cash online.
Kings and Queens of Springs 9/6/23 Each year the swim team meets at Barton Springs for a run/swim fun Bowie Team competition. The first male and female swimmer will be crowned King and Queen of Springs. Volunteers will be needed for this event signup genius to come.
Red vs Black Meet 9/20/23 Intersquad swim meet at Circle C Pool during team practice times.
District Sprint Meet 9/29/23 at Eanes Aquatic Center
Swimming and Diving Apparel Distribution Swim apparel will be distributed in class in the next few weeks, following the fall swim tryouts. We will do an additional order for optional spirit wear once the team roster is complete. Stay tuned for an email with an order form.
Volunteer Needs Photographer is needed for all swim and dive events. This role does not need to be filled by a professional photographer and can be split between multiple people. These images are used in the yearbook, on our website and in our social media posts. Volunteers will be needed at all events and requested as we get closer to events.
We are very excited about the season! See you all at the parents meeting.
